One of our amazing guest speakers, Leila Sabet (Miss Florida Citrus) tells us about her experiences as a girl in a male-dominated industry and how she overcomes everyday challenges along with motivation and general advice for the audience.

Our mission at Girl Up Orlando involves giving back to those less privileged so this year we selected a girl from Guatemala named Jaquelyne-Roxana to sponsor. Throughout these 11 days, we hope to raise $420 to fund her education and give her basic resources for a full year! Please consider donating!!  

For this event, we will be sending personal hand-written and online letters to Jaquelyne Roxana from Guatemala, the girl we are sponsoring! We will be sharing stories and experiences to make Jaquelyne feel welcome and part of our Girl Up Orlando Family. She will also respond back so make sure to attend for that opportunity!

GIVEAWAY INCOMING! On Instagram, we will be hosting a giveaway and giving a surprise gift to one lucky person randomly selected at the end of the 11 Days. Stay posted for more details and make sure to participant for a chance at an AMAZING gift basket!!

All the attendees will be watching the movie "Mean Girls" which follows a young girl in a new environment overcoming new challenges. At Girl Up Orlando we want to promote healthy discussions about topics previously avoided so we will also have a discussion the following day about the movie.

For this event, we will be having an in-depth discussion on the movie  we watched last night, "Mean Girls."  The discussion will feature questions regarding how the movie relates to our movement.

Our Instagram will be taken over by GIrls Got Steam! Their organization focuses on educating girls on opportunities within STEAM and how to get more involved. Stay tuned to hear more from them!

We will be partnering with Green Dot for a Bystander Intervention training session, something that is a common problem in our society and we feel should be addressed. Make sure to come for an educational experience! 

We will be having an in-depth discussion with She's the First about issues with girl's education and schooling in many countries as well as how COVID-19 is having an impact on girl's education.

Throughout the month we have collected responses for a couple of questions regarding women empowerment. We will reveal a video of our members holding signs answering the questions and showing their experiences. Follow our Instagram to stay updated and get involved in this video!

For our closing event, we will have another amazing gues speaker, Anna Huynh (Miss UCF) tell us about her experiences and give some motivational advice on how to empower ourselves in this world. Make sure you do not miss that!
